Broad enough to see
the whole system.

Mechanical engineering is the base, but robotics is where I like to live: at the boundary between hardware, software, people, and the machine itself.

I like the messy middle.

I’m most useful when a problem crosses disciplines. I can design mechanical hardware, make the part, wire and debug the robot, work through software configuration, bring up a new system, and then make the process repeatable.

That range came from engineering school, combat robotics, manufacturing work, robotics integration, and an unreasonable number of side projects.

Still building things when nobody asked.

Cars, motorcycles, machining, photography, music, and old machines that require detective work. I restored a lathe, worked on a C4 Corvette and Jeep, and spent years learning how things behave when they are not in a textbook.
